My name is Leah, I am a laundry and ironing service provider based on Station Road Erdington, Birmingham.
I am a mum of two, a gorgeous daughter and an adorable son who sadly is no longer with us.
My son Zawadi was the inspiration behind starting Laundry Buster.
After his loss, and while therapy to help come to terms with that, I uncovered the healing power of ironing. You see prior to this, I hated ironing as the next person. But on the ironing board, this new world made a little more sense with every crease I straightened.
That is how Laundry Buster was started, as part of therapy for myself, as a need to be more present in my daughter’s life. and it’s becoming clear it’s meant for more. Since its inception I have been welcomed to many homes and my clients, I honestly have the best clients in the whole of UK! Loyal, generous and some have become lifetime friends!
It’s been amazing helping those that need:
☑️To have more independence in their own home;
☑️To have extra help in their retirement years without the guilt of “disturbing” family;
☑️To have an extra pair of hands coz life with the kids and careers is more important;
☑️To enjoy more of the single life as one should;
☑️To be part of healing from mental stress and illness coz a pile of laundry after a therapy session isn’t conducive to proper healing.
It’s more than laundry we do, we are an essential part of a home’s support system.
A few things to know about me;
I am a Kenyan-British, born in Kenya and adopted Britain as my home over 10years ago. I am loyal to a fault, the human equivalent to a dog. Speaking of dogs, I have a crazy but absolutely adorable cockerpoo, it was love at first sight and we share our birth date. ( I know cute). I also have the most loving cat ever, apparently I am the grandma haha!
My mission is to get more and more people ditching chores. By sharing my story and offering my services I hope to bring that little bit of change in the way we live our lives.
